The book was written well! I’m proud of my martial arts brother Kurt! I recommend this book to martial arts practitioners, to get a better understanding of martial arts principles.
Amazing read, the content is easy to follow. Kurt makes you think about making the impossible possible. The techniques mentioned in this book are life changing. A must buy for anyone looking for self-defence.
Good read. Kurt did a great job illustrating and describing the principles and techniques of effortless movement in self defense practice
I have been involved in the Martial Arts for over 35 years, and in the art of Kosho Shorei Ryu Kempo since 1997. This art has completely changed the way I view every art I have trained in before, and after my exposure to it. With a wealth of theories and concepts, and the underlying theme of the Octagon that permeates everything in the art, I finally felt that I was given The How and The Why things work in the martial arts. With that being said, some of the theories and concepts can be a little challenging to explain to others, even if you have a full understanding of the principles behind them.
I am very happy to say, that has all changed with this book! Kurt Hinton,Sensei has taken the amazing concepts and theories handed down by Great Grandmaster James M, Mitose and Hanshi Bruce Juchnik , and broken them down in to simple, easy to understand terms for both the new martial arts practitioner, and the advanced martial artist alike. I use the term martial artist as opposed to just a Kosho Ryu or Kempo practitioner , because the concepts presented in this book can be easily applied to any and all martial studies, without jumping to or learning a completely new style. I will defiantly being using this book as great reference source when I teach my classes. Looking forward to more works from Hinton, sensei in the future.
I'm looking for different sources to learn toki pona, and this book is excellent for easy progress, plus it takes into account recent word additions. I recommend !
I am learning Toki Pona and have found some great resources online, and although I haven't finished this book yet, I can tell how good it is by thumbing through it and noticing that there is a great wealth of examples of Toki Pona and they are ALL translated into English, so I won't ever be wondering if I understand how some phrase of Toki Pona means what it does. With each example text I'll be able to try to figure out it out on my own and then will be able to check my understanding against the one provided in the book.
